Travis County Commissioners Court
August 4, 2009,
Item 25b
>> now, 25-b, let's get a couple of quick items and then we'll call yours up, okay, danny.
25-b, review and approve requests regarding grant proposals, applications, contracts and permissions to continue.
b is amended grant application with the criminal justice division of the governor's office for the criminal courts to continue providing enhanced treatment and case management to specialized populations in the drug diversion court.
>> hello again.
this is ronnie reeferseed, and I'm bringing this up as an obvious point.
if we want to save money and so we can solve other problems, we have to bring bring an end to this idiotic war on pot smokers.
over 88% of the people in every state know that medicinal marijuana should at least be decriminallized.
and like I said earlier, we have over half a million people rotting behind bars for non-violent marijuana offenses.
so this of course is one of those things and it's probably a good thing the way this is handled, but it would be yet another thing we could save money on if we would just come to grips with reality about drugs.
so I just want to make that comment.
thanks.
>> any other questions or comments?
move approval.
>> second.
>> discussion?
all in favor?
that passes by unanimous vote.
