Travis County Commissioners Court
July 28, 2009,
Item 27
27.
consider and take appropriate action on memorandum of understanding with golfsmith related to enterprise project nomination.
we did get the memorandum of understanding.
questions, issues?
>> judge, the only question that I would have on this, as far as the annual report that they are to come back with, I'm saying golfsmith folks, as far as the hiring plans, things of that nature, who would actually be in receipt of those reports?
several reports that golfsmith should make annually.
within the memorandum.
>> so who do they deliver that report to?
>> yes.
>> we need to determine that.
otherwise -- otherwise I don't know who is supposed to receive it.
because really I'm really concerned about to make sure that the -- diversity in the hiring practices actually.
>> do you want to receive it or --
>> p.b.o.
handles all of this type of stuff so I would think it would be p.b.o.
>> all right.
>> we can convey that information to --
>> let's say the director of our planning and budget office, how's that?
>> all right.
all right.
all right, that will be fine.
i have no -- other than that, I don't have any problem with it.
hopefully if they -- if they do as they say they're going to attempt to do, we hope that they do that, otherwise we would have to have some kind of leverage to.
>> okay.
>> ensure that they come back this way again, we may not be so gracious with the next nomination.
>> now, do we want to cover that under the
>> [indiscernible] or inoperate it under the m.o.u.
>> that's up to the courts.
i think they have already signed.
so if we make a change in the agreement, it will go back to them, that's not a problem we can do that.
or we can do that in a cover letter that directs that any reporting under this agreement -- it just says county but that the designation for county would be p.b.o.'s executive manager for purposes of this agreement.
>> can we on the last page then on that exhibit, what -- we define county as the director of the Travis County planning and budget office.
can we initial that, send our signed copy back to them to initial it.
will that incorporate it enough.
>> yes, if you will let -- I can come pick up the originals and make an adjustment place for you to initial, then we will get it back to them.
>> okay.
>> how does that sound?
>> fine.
>> move approval.
>> may be better than a cover letter.
>> yes, sir.
>> I move approval.
>> okay.
>> with those changes.
>> second.
>> discussion?
all in favor?
show Commissioners Davis, Eckhardt, Gomez and yours truly voting in favor.
Commissioner Huber voting against.
