Number one, our fire marshal is here and eager to address us.
1.
consider and take appropriate action regarding the prohibition of outdoor burning in the unincorporated areas of Travis County.

our drought, as you all know, continues to deepen.
the numbers of the fires are up slightly.
but the real problem with the fires is that the fires increase in intensity very quickly.
so our drought index is currently at 671, up from last week when we were here.
the short term forecast is to remain very hot.
very dry.
there is some hope that we will start receiving rain in sent.
but we're at least a month away from that.
the current burn ban does not expire for three more weeks and my recommend recommenn is at this point to leave the burn ban in place.

not only has the situation not improved in fact it's gotten worse.
>> it has, sir.

>> by taking no action we leave in place the order prohibiting outdoor burning.
if there are questions about what can and cannot be done, call the fire marshal's office or any member of the Commissioners court.
