richter.
as our -- once he was promoted to county extension agent, he has been doing both jobs for a pretty long time.
so we certainly welcome her, but we want to say thank you to him for gnat only managing our office but continuing the horticulture program while we were recruiting for this position.
with that I'll hand it over.

>> good morning, judge and Commissioners.
i appreciate coming this morning to introduce daphne richards who is our new horticulturist with agrilife extension.
she comes to us from el paso.
she was a horticulturist there.
she's what those of us from a&m call a hybrid.
goter to first degree at university of Texas and second at Texas a&m.
she has both bases well covered as well as her experience.
we look forward to having her come and be part of our team in the agrilife extension office.

>> judge, Commissioners, daphne richards.
it's my pleasure to be here with you today and to start my tenure here in Travis County.
loved el paso, loved the desert, will miss it a lot, but I've been telling skip for the nine years I've been with the extension he need to do move out of the way so I can move to Travis County.
i'm very pleased to be here and look forward to working with you and constituents in your precinct.
the mission of the Texas agrilife extension service is education.
and my particular area of horticulture, we're also working with the public here looking forward to working with the more progressive community on issues regarding the natural resources and especially right now in the drought that we're in conservation of water and other issues in our community.

>> welcome.

>> welcome.
and I hope that you can bring some of your skill that you brought from el paso.
i hope you can bring us some rain.
we need some rain.

>> I did not bring this heat.
i'm used to the heat, but I'm not used to sweating.
sweating has me kind of discombobulated.
i hope it moves out there as it should have done about a month ago.

>> we look forward to working with you.

>> thank you very much.

>> welcome.

>> thank you.
