Number 2 is a public hearing to receive comments regarding the proposed neighborhood stabilization program 2 application to the u.s.
department of housing and urban development by the Travis County housing finance corporation.

nsp 2 is part of the american recovery and reinvestment act and it provides $1.93 billion nationwide to help stabilize neighborhoods that have high foreclosure.
the grants are -- the amount that the housing finance corporation plans to apply for is $5 million.
it will -- there are areas of Travis County that do have high foreclosure rates and meet the threshold that h.u.d.
has set for receiving these funds.
the grant is competitive so we will -- we may or may not be awarded these funds.
and the funds would be used to assist home buyers in purchasing or acquiring homes in the high foreclosure areas of Travis County.
