Travis County Commissioners Court
May 5, 2009,
Item 10
10.b request from justice of the peace precinct five for an exception to Travis County code chapter 10.03002, general overview for determining pay policy; and approve of two plots to receive a salary adjustment which their current salary exceed 10% above their current grade mid point, that's an exception to the policy.
any questions?
this apparently is coming out of current salary savings.
>> that's confirmed by p.b.o.
they do have sufficient permanent salary savings.
>> okay.
>> this is a pay raise, not a bonus.
>> correct, added to their base salary.
>> questions?
>> I move approval judge.
>> seconds.
>> discussion?
all in favor?
that passes by unanimous vote.
and 10 c request from facilities management department for an exception to Travis County code chapter 10.03010, demotion
>> facilities department is requesting a policy exception and to take this into executive session.
it is outside of the demotion policy.
that is -- that would be requesting your action today in executive session.
>> okay.
legal was here.
>>
>> [indiscernible]
>> I guess my question is whether we need to -- if we need to take into executive session, we ought to take it in when we take the other items in.
my question for legal is whether we need to discuss this with them.
whether they have legal advice of significance that we should hear.
on the facilities request, the demotion, 10 c, there's legal advice that we need to get from you.
>> that would probably best be discussed in legal session judge, I’m sorry, I mean executive session.
>> we will take it into executive session when we go.
>> okay.
>> I had hoped that it would be this morning, looks more and more like it will be this afternoon.
>> thank you.
>> okay
