View captioned video.

Let's call to order now the Travis County health facilities development corporation.
two items.
1.
consider and take appropriate action on request to approve membership fee for the national association of health and educational facilities finance authorities.
good afternoon, I'm harvey Davis, manager of the corporation, I'm asking the board to approve a $1,500 membership fee to this organization.
the corporation has been a member since 2005.
and at that time the -- they -- the organization had a -- had amended a complimentary membership, now they are asking the corporation to -- to begin to pay for the membership fee.
most of the members are state issuers of health and education bonds.
in Texas the state of Texas does not have a state-wide issuer.
so it's -- it's been -- so the opportunity is for -- for cities and counties to establish their own health and education corporations to issue bonds in their local jurisdiction.
the reason that -- that I recommended that -- that we continue the membership as an associate member, this is a reduced membership fee, so the corporation would be a non-voting associate member.
but I have found the organization very helpful.
they have good information about what other issuers are charging as far as fees.
they have been they were very instrument stall recently in convincing congress to change the law to where the bank qualified bonds don't require small entities to come and issue those bonds.
if you will recall, we've had many occasions where small towns have come to -- to get the county's permission to issue 10 million-dollars in bonds for -- for -- for small health or education facilities.
this should not happen in the future because -- because congress has changed the law and this organization was very instrumental in -- in that change.
so -- so I think the -- the corporation would benefit by continuing the membership and would ask you to approve it.

>> so you think there's -- there's at least $1,500 worth of value?

>> yes, I do.
i think that -- that -- that once the -- the financial situation in the country improves there's going to be more opportunities for our housing and health corporation to be -- to issue bonds and membership in this organization would be useful.

>> you did let them know that we prefer the complimentary membership?

>> yes.
they have agreed to start them -- the membership beginning June 30th, 2009.
so our complimentary would continue for a few more months.

>> move approval.

>> second.

>> motion and second to approve.
any more discussion?
all in favor?
that passes by unanimous vote.
with director Eckhardt absent.
2.
consider and take appropriate action on request to approve an invoice from the wellness budget.

>> and the invoice is for $395.84.
the wellness committee to hyperwear llc, for equipment, training equipment of their budget.
right now their budget wellness line item with the corporation has a billion of $6,414.04.
if you approve this invoice, it will be just a little over $6,000.

>> move approval.

>> second.

>> discussion?
have you seen the sand belts, mr.
davis?

>> no, I haven't.
they didn't -- they didn't -- they just brought me the invoice.

>>

>> [indiscernible]

>> [laughter]

>> I'm scared to ask.

>> [laughter] I want to get me a picture of one of them room soon.
all in favor?
that passes by unanimous vote.

>> move adjourn.

>> second.

>> all in favor?
that carries unanimously, also.
