Let's take the special item no.1 and then we will go to the executive session item that -- that residents came down on.
1.
consider and take appropriate action regarding the prohibition of outdoor burning in the unincorporated areas of Travis County.
>> good morning, judge, Commissioners.
Travis County fire marshal's office, pete baldwin can emergency management.
this morning the mean kdbi for Travis County was 504, an increase from last week.
a little bit of rain that we got last weeked helped for about 24 hours.
and now we have had the -- the low humanity and the wind and -- humidity and winds and our drought index is on the increase.
i put up on your desk there a -- a map of Travis County.
which shows in 4-kilometer blocks approximately where the dry areas are.
at this time, about 75% of Travis County, the -- the kbdi is in excess of 500 and the next rain that's predicted is the possibility of rain this coming weekend.
but with dry, windy conditions between -- between now and then our recommendation is to leave the burn ban in place.

>> esd's, the other fire professionals agree?

>> by taking no action today we leave the burn ban in place, for those that want an explanation they should call our fire marshal or emergency services director and their phone numbers are.
