Travis County Commissioners Court

March 10, 2009,
Travis County Housing Finance Corporation

View captioned video.

Now let's call to order the Travis County housing finance corporation.
item number 1 is to consider and take appropriate action on request to approve an amended resolution for funding from the Texas department of housing and community affairs for a 2009-2011 home tenant based rental assistance program.

>> good afternoon.
i'm harvey Davis, manager of the corporation.
and about a month ago you approved a resolution as part of the grant application for the tenant based rental assistance grant.
and we -- the resolution said we were applying for $312,000.
of that $312,000, 12,000 was for administrative fees.
once I had submitted the grant, the state informed me that we could apply for $36,000 in administrative fees, which is $12,000 per year.
and my understanding was it was just $12,000 for the grant.
so not wanting to turn away administrative income, I'm asking you to approve an amended resolution that says we are applying for $336,000 grant, of which $36,000 is administrative income.

>> so moved.

>> second.

>> discussion?
all in favor?
that carries unanimously with director Davis absent.
number 2 is to consider and take appropriate action on request to approve representation letter to be provided to deloitte and touche, llp, regarding fiscal year 2008 annual financial audit.

>> and this is the same letter that Travis County approved this morning, and rather than the at audit -- rather than the county auditor signing the letter, it has been signed by staff, being rodney rhodes and leroy nellis and harvey Davis.
we signed it and so we're asking you to also sign the representation letter.
one change on the letter, deloitte wanted the date to be March the 10th.
so on your backup it says -- the letters says February 29th, but it's been changed to March the 10th.
and that's what the letter that we'll be giving them will be dated.

>> they wanted the letter to be accurate and truthful.

>> well, they wanted us to make representations for a longer period of time, up until March 10th, the day, rather than a couple of weeks ago.

>> discussion?
all in favor?
that passes by unanimous vote.

>> move adjourn.

>> all in favor?
director Davis absent for the full meeting.
that passes by unanimous vote.
