Travis County Commissioners Court
March 10, 2009,
Item A2
>> john, you come down on a-2?
>> I am here for that as well.
>> a-2, approve contract award for mediation services to coach 17 trick, and coach centric is one of those consultant we looked at.
>> I'm sorry for having to do it so late.
a draft contract for the coach mediator for the relationship that we've been discussing that needed to be enhanced.
so this is a consultant who can perform those services.
i worked with the subcommittee, judge Biscoe and Commissioner Gomez to develop the scope of services.
we've got a price that's been negotiated down by the purchasing office.
and I think the contract is probably ready.
>>
>> [inaudible - no mic].
>> Commissioner Gomez and I are thinking that the court would want to fast track this, kind of insisted that we move it as quickly as possible.
even john hilly sat in on the meeting.
actually, we requested a junior lawyer and john walked in, so I don't know whether he's the only one available.
>> probably could have gotten a smarter lawyer.
>> but it's pretty straightforward.
it's just that these services are kind of needed immediately and we thought if we can save a week, let's do it.
>> agreed.
>> questions?
and the rate was negotiated by purchasing and it's a good one, I think.
we're thinking that 40 hours ought to do it.
if not, the rate goes down 25 bucks an hour.
and.the way, I was at campo last night, not sitting in the office waiting on delivery of a contract, john.
but we get 2:30-day reports and then a more formal presentation after 90 days or around 90 days?
>> correct.
>> that's what we had talked about previously.
>> second.
>> I move approval unless there are questions.
now, we can take another week if we need to.
>> no.
i'm good.
i sped read it.
>> all in favor?
that passes by unanimous vote.
this of course is subject to the consultant signing the agreement and we pretty much have worked it out during the meeting.
i don't see any problem with that.
and risk management submitting a requisition.
okay?
thank you, cid and your people also.
that passed by unanimous vote, right?
we are to executive session.
we will come back and take up the number 15.
are you here on 15, the koch pipeline deal?
>> chris has done all the analysis on it.
>> my question was are we posted sufficiently for an agreement approval?
>> right.
it is the exact wording of the document.
chris and I talked about it while you were talking about another item.
we feel comfortable with the language.
>> okay.
