View captioned video.

One other item before we get to a couple of important executive session items. And that is 22, consider and take appropriate action on policies appeared procedures for the following. A, advancing the Travis County agenda for the 81st Texas legislature. B, advising the court on legislative proposals that affect the county and recommending the court take action in support of or opposition to those proposals. And c, requests from other elected officials, organizations and constituents to support or oppose legislation.

>> good morning to the members of the courts. You have in front of you a document that is titled policies and procedures 81st Texas legislature. What that summarizes is the discussion that we held during the work session last Thursday and tried to reduce that to writing and into a policy that we can -- that I'm asking the court to approve today. There are two specific actions I'm asking the court to do. One is to approve the policy document. Secondly, there's a reference at the bottom of page 1 of the policy document to the notion that the court would designate one or two of its members to serve as a liaison with my office and to advise me during the session as things begin moving very quickly. And so if the court sees fit to do that, then I'd like to have that designation today.

>> Commissioners eckhardt and huber have indicated an interest in serving as liaisons during this session. Are y'all still interested in this opportunity.

>> very much.

>> last chance to back out.

>> I move that the two be appointed.

>> second.

>> discussion? All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. And the document that we -- you gave us yesterday, any questions about it?

>> huh-uh.

>> I believe it captures what we discussed at the work session last Thursday.

>> yes, sir.

>> and also what we've done during previous legislative sessions.

>> I think it reflects a lot of what we've done in previous sessions. It reflects the discussion on Thursday. And I have also checked on this -- I've checked this document with the county attorney to make sure that the county attorney was comfortable with how we described the various roles and relationships and policies and procedures.

>> okay. Does your arrival signal that you have an opinion to share with us?

>> just coming --

>> you're just off to a late start.

>> in case you had a question. And whenever he says county attorney, he does mean the county attorney has reviewed this and is comfortable with it.

>> okay. Move approval.

>> second.

>> discussion? All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote.
