Whereas mayo angelou reminds Us, giving the gift my Ancestors gave, I am the Dream and hope of the slave. Whereas the national theme For this year s African-american heritage Month, the Austin Independent school district, Aisd, has chosen an america Where all leaders as its Local theme, which honors The history and Contributions of African-americans in Austin, Whereas this year the aisd Will conduct its 26th Annual african-american Heritage celebration. And present distinguished Awards on Sunday, February 8th, '09, at 3:00 p.m. At The wilhemena delco Activities center. Whereas aisd and travis County cherish all citizens And embrace the African-american community Its history and hope for the Future, now there ever be it Resolved that we the members Of the Travis County Commissioners court do Proclaim the month of February, '09 as African-american heritage Month in Travis County, Texas and urge all residents To participate with the Austin independent school District in this year's Observance and I move Approval.
