Number one is a public hearing to receive comments regarding a request to temporarily close amanda road in precinct one. For drainage improvements beginning January 14th, 2009 and continuing through February 4th, 2009 or until construction is completed.

>> good morning, david greer with transportation national resources department. We are asking that the road be closed for a period of time, about two weeks so that the county crews can replace culverts along amanda -- cross culverts on manda road. Today there is an alternative route that is available, and the purpose of today's public hearing is to receive any comment with regard to the temporary closure.
>> joe, one time before I commented that in my view we should not have public hearing the day before we close a road. That almost makes comment as matter of formality rather than meaningful. So I know we can't do it this time -- I know we can't do it this time, but seems like a little thing to do.
>> all right.
>> I know we don't do it intentionally, but if I were a citizen and came down to give what I considered to be meaningful comments, I would want to think somebody would mull them over for a couple of days. Would anyone like to give comments during this public hearing on item number one? If so, please come forward.
