16. Approve contract award for cafeteria and vending concession services, rfs no. S080236ld to f & m blank l. P., d/b/a accent food services.

>> good morning, judge, commissions. Cyd grimes, purchasing agent. We issued a -- a request for services back in June. We only received one response from our current vendor. And we have been in negotiations all this time working with them on different issues, healthier snacks in the machines, also there was the issue of -- of the -- the styrafoam in the cafeteria that Commissioner eckhardt has brought up several times. So it's really a matter of cost issues for them and so we're going to work through Commissioner eckhardt to see if we can work with them. Someone I think charles williams is looking for funds, perhaps, to go to paper products so anyway we were -- because of the increases in food costs, because of the last contract I believe we are getting a guaranteed commission of 37,000. This year they were only able to guarantee us $30,000. So -- so with all of the increases in food costs, we think this is still a good -- a good deal for us. They will -- they did ask to raise some of the costs on 20-ounce drinks from 1.35 to 1.40, then in January those drinks will go from 140 to 150. Candy bars will go from 90 cents to 95 cents and then after January the 1st they will go to a dollar.

>> how do those prices compare to the -- to the I guess prices charged in other -- or similar --

>> one of the things --

>> similar places.

>> one of the things that facilities management did they sent someone out to some of the convenience stores, what we have are convenience scene of the accident. So I mean if -- convenience snacks. If you went to sames you could get it cheaper, going to the convenience store you would be paying about the same prices.

>> products in vending machines.

>> yes.

>> they did do some price comparisons around to make sure.

>> questions?

>> move approval.

>> second.

>> all in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. Thank you.
