7. Approve resolution recognizing lizzie m. Burleson on her retirement from Travis County, constable precinct five office. How are you doing? Are you ms. Burleson. Have a seat ma'am.

>> are you here alone.

>> no, my daughter and crew.

>> tell them to come up here then. I don't know why they're so shy. Come up.

>> five can be seated and the others can stand around you.

>> all right. Come on my daughters, sit.

>> let me read the resolution while they are coming up. It reads whereas lizzy m best of your memory son, team leader, began her career with -- burleson team leader began her career and retiring October 31st , 2008 after completing 18 years plus of outstanding and dedicated service to Travis County constable precinct 5, whereas ms. Burleson began her career as a certified mail clerk and dispatcher and was promoted to the service clerk coordinator and finally team leader and we all have benefited from her experience and hard work as she made many contributions to the office. Whereas ms. Burleson served in promotions -- in positions of increasing responsibility at the los angeles herald examiner from 1972 through 1986. She doesn't look old enough to have been there

>> [laughter] sears service center and montgomery wards service center in the mid to late 1980's, whereas ms. Burleson was born in Austin, Texas, one of the few native Austinites here now to the late Sam and matty hardman, the mother of two sons and a daughter, the daughter is here, and grandmother to 8 grandchildren. You are looking younger all the time, ms. Burleson.

>> [laughter]

>> whereas ms. Burleson is a graduate of old anderson high school in Austin, Texas, whereas ms. Burleson Marched in the civil rights movement of the 1960's and is an active member of new lincoln missionary baptist church under the leadership of reverend am r. Evans, senior and whereas ms. Burleson will leave us with fond memories and earned the admire rehabilitation and respect of her managers and colleagues at Travis County constable precinct 5 for her dedication, enthusiasm generosity. She takes great pleasure in -- hereby expresses sincere gratitude for the invaluable contributions she has made to constable precinct 5 and all of Travis County. I move approval.

>> now, ms. Burleson if that doesn't say it all, what would you like to add.

>> first of all to my supervisor, betty. I think she interviewed me two or three times before deciding okay I will give her a shot. I thank you for that. Constable bruce elfant, one of the greatest member I have every known. I love them all dearly, I truly miss them. I thank my daughter from driving down from gardner-betts to sit here with me, to all of you thank you so much. When I get bored I'll reapply.

>> [laughter]

>> [ applause ]

>> any other comments? I'm bruce elfant precinct 5 constable. It's been my pleasure to work with lizzy for all of these years, very low team player, can do employ. I have always felt a sense of humor is important in your job. Lizzy has taken that to a new level. She keeps us upbeat, in stitches, you will be greatly missed. You are always an alumni of precinct 5 whether you like it or not. Thank you.

>> anybody else? Well, good luck to you. All future endeavors.

>> thank you very much.

>> thank you very much for your service.

>> thank you.

>> tell reverend evans I said hello when you see him, okay. All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote.

>> [ applause ] good luck to you.

>> take care of yourself.

>> good luck, lizzy.

>> thank you.

>> judge Biscoe, I would like to address the Commissioners court.

>> no, sir, you missed that opportunity.

>> but you didn't close the public hearing?

>> what public hearing?

>> for citizens communications.

>> we don't have to. We call all the hearings long time ago.

>> oh, okay.

>> we'll see you next week, though.

>> I don't -- I don't really have time to come down to Commissioners court.

>> we'll see you next week if you would like to take advantage of the opportunity.
