Travis County Commissioners Court
October 14, 2008
Item A2
>> since we're close to a 2 there. Consider and take appropriate action on request to notify Travis County of the filing of an application to -- to preservation Texas to nominate hamilton pool reserve for inclusion in the Texas most endangered places list. Thought about recommending this for -- for part of the consent motion. Apparently, the way I understand it, any applicant can file this application. But the affected governmental entity should be made aware of it. I received a request to make us aware. I thought that the court should be made aware of this instead of just me. The other thing that I did was I sent it to joe gieselman and john hilly in the county attorney's office to make sure there weren't any problems that I didn't see. As far as I know, their e-mails to me indicated this is fairly routine, should be all right.
>> we just have to approve the --
>> it's to be made aware, to receive notification of the filing of the application.
>> okay. Is there an opportunity for us to join the nomination?
>> we're not posted for that. On request to notify Travis County to take appropriate action. I would post it separately if I wanted to do that.
>> okay.
>> what I told them that I would do is just do the notification so the whole court would be made aware. I don't know that as county judge I have the authority to -- to be notified for the court anyway. But I may have. My motion is for us to -- receive notification of the filing of the application.
>> second.
>> to notify the applicant if they need to show the state that they have done it, we can do it. If we want to do something further -- I don't know what the deadline is. If they have already filed the application or what. All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote.
>> should I find out when the application deadline is and let you know.
>> that would be good.
>> I have been dealing with nell penrich. I think that I shared those e-mails to the court, right?
