Executive Session Items

View captioned video.

We've come to executive session.
when do you have to leave?

>>

>> [inaudible].

>> we only have executive session left.
do you want to recess until 1:30?
we have that nationwide item that's going to require some discussion.

>> do you not think the nationwide discussion also needs more than three?

>> problem with having it is we have a few anxious employees that I promised we would get something a bit more definitive out.
people have been sort of reluctant to answer questions because the answers have not been so clear.

>> can we get the word to them we would love to give them the information today, but we didn't have any idea we were only going to have three of us.

>> why don't we see how it goes?
can we do that?
on that one we theodosia a discussion of where we are legally anyway.
do we want to recess to 1:00 or 1:30?

>> 1:30.

>> motion to recess to 1:30.
that passes by unanimous vote.

we have concluded that we need -- that on 28 no response to our counteroffer so don't need it today.
we'll have it back on next week just in case we need it.
29 we concluded that we probably need more court members present so we'll postpone our discussion of the potential purchase of real estate on airport boulevard until next week also.
that's number 29.
we do need 30, and 30 is consider and take appropriate action on purchase of land from the camanche trail conservation fund and joseph f.
lucas in connection with the balcones canyonlands conservation plan.
and this is under the consultation with attorney and real property exceptions to the open meetings act.
and number 31, receive legal briefing and take appropriate action regarding contract for third party administration of Travis County section 457 deferred compensation plan with nationwide retirement solutions.
consultation with attorney exception to the open meetings act.
we'll discuss these two items only and we'll return to open court before taking any action.

>> we've returned from executive session where we discussed items 30 and 31.

>> judge, I would move that we accept the offer by mr. Joseph l.
lucas for one tract containing 141.2 acres for $8.1 million.
that would be considered the east piece.
the western piece would be 137.3 acres for $20.5 million.
and along with this I would also move that we either allow myself or joe geiselman to do the closing at the time whenever that takes place.

>> second.

>> and we authorize the county judge to sign the deed prepared by staff?

>> absolutely.

>> and signed by mr. Lucas.

>> absolutely.

>> discussion?
all in favor?
that passes by unanimous vote.
we also discussed item number 31 involving the 457 deferred compensation plan with nationwide retirement solutions.
we will need a followup discussion and another court member, which we should have in the court next Tuesday.
so unless there is objection, we will postpone action on this item for a followup discussion next week, which is October 14th.
and we will plan to take appropriate action at that time.
and with that, there is no further action today.

>> move adjourn.

>> second.

>> all in favor?
that passes by unanimous vote.
