6. Approve proclamation recognizing the 25th national night out. We will be back and pick up 5. Anybody here to receive number 6. All right, we may have to give you that proclamation later -- the proclamation reads, looking for the original. It reads the national association of town watch is sponsoring a unique nationwide crime and drug prevention program on October 7th, 2008, called national night out. Whereas the national night out is designed to, one, heighten crime awareness, two, generate support for and participation in local anti-crime programs. Three,

>> [indiscernible] neighborhood spirit and police community partnerships and four, send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized in fighting back. Whereas the 25th annual national night out provides Travis County a unique opportunity to join forces with thousands of other communities around the world in proposing cooperative police and community crime and drug prevention efforts, whereas the Travis County sheriff's office plays a vital role in establishing joint crime and drug prevention efforts in Travis County, and is supporting national night out 2008 locally, whereas the Travis County sheriff's office encourages all citizens to become aware of the importance of crime prevention programs and the impact of their individuals and -- their individual and collective participation can have on reducing crime and drug abuse in Travis County and whereas police community partnerships and neighborhood safety and awareness cooperation are important things of the national night out program, now therefore be is resolved that we the members of the Travis County Commissioners court encourage all citizens of Travis County to join the sheriff's office and other local law enforcement agencies, local business sponsors and the national association of town watch in supporting the 25th annual national night out and I move approval.

>> good morning, I'm jim sylvester the chief deputy, I want to thank the county judge and Commissioners court for approving the proclamation, strengthening our department which is so important the partnership with the Travis County Commissioners court and sentence of Travis County. As the sheriff's office we always state it's a group effort. We can't enforce laws to get our way out of this situation. Crime has to be a partnership with the Commissioners court. The sheriff's office and all of the citizens here in Travis County. I want to thank you the proclamation for your support, I will turn it over to deputy kitchens heading out the national night out program for the Travis County Commissioners court.

>> judge Biscoe, commissions. Thank you for approving the proclamation. This just once again strengthens the message that we are trying to send out there, we thank you for supporting that. Earlier I had spoken in reference to the Austin police department teaming up with us in this effort. I'm going to turn it over to rosy soliz.

>> the Austin police department is participating again once this year with the national night out program. We have about 350 block parties. I have already registered around the city of Austin. And Travis County. So we can sends you those lists of all of those parties so that you can attend those parties in your precincts. Also, we're again having that kickoff at the turner roberts recreation center from 5:00 to 7:00, we welcome you to come out around join in the festivities. Thank you.

>> folks can also contact us, you know, wanting to list of say a particular zip code area. We can -- we have the data base of all of the block parties so we can pull it by zip code or neighborhood actually also. So we can get that information out to folks.
