>> 6. Consider and take appropriate action on an order prohibiting outdoor burning in the unincorporated areas of Travis County. Pete baldwin, Travis County emergency management coordinator. The fire chiefs took a vote last Monday at their monthly meeting and requested that this item be put back on. We have not had any significant rain. Our drought index continues to grow, increase rather. And just this past week, I have -- I have been getting reports of more and more fires that we are -- that we are running on. So -- so it is at the bequest of the chiefs that we have enact outdoor burning ban for the unincorporated areas of Travis County.
>> and for residents the -- the outdoor burning ban means what?
>> it means there is no out-- not any activity that creates sparks or flames outside of a container designed to contain those sparks or flames is illegal.
>> what is the count, on the -- is it above 600?
>> yes, sir. I believe the other day when I looked --
>> over 650.
>> it's up there.
>> move that we approve staff recommendation and impose the outdoor burning ban.
>> second.
>> discussion? All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote.
