Travis County Commissioners Court
September 23, 2008
Item 3
3. Receive comments regarding a proposed issuance of tax exempt bonds by crawford educational facilities corporation for hyde park baptist school, inc. (action item #38)
>> move that the public hearing be opened.
>> second.
>> all in favor? That passes by unanimous vote.
>> good morning, cliff blunt
>> [inaudible - no mic] notice of this public hearing was published in the statesman more than 14 days ago as required by the internal revenue code. Just to be clear the item is for hyde park baptist school, not the church. This financing is for a new high school to be located up around the facility called the quarry facility close to braker and mopac in north Austin. It's received the proper zoning. Has a site development permit and they are expecting a building permit very shortly. So I -- I don't know if you all have any questions about the project --
>> questions?
>> this is very similar to requests we give very commonly consent to financings in Travis County.
>> right, yeah.
>> do we have the processing fee in hand or just a commitment to pay?
>> there's a commitment to pay at closing is -- I'm sure it could be paid early if you would like, but what we discussed with -- with mr. Davis is paying it at closing.
>> that's when we normally collect it?
>> yes, we have always collected the fee.
>>
>> [indiscernible] past practices do we. Anything further? Anybody here to give testimony during this public hearing, item no. 3.
>> move to close the public hearing.
>> second.
>> all in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. This will be action item no. 38 on today's agenda.
