Executive Session
Are we to executive session? The good news about executive session is I told mr. Norton that we needed to do additional work' 37. That's the exposition center item. Especially on the advertising thing. He's been doing research and I told him I thought we ought to try to come up with draft language in-house, maybe share that with the association and basically try to get as much done before we report back to the court as soon as possible. To 37 we'll have back on next week. And really I think realistically we ought to take two weeks on that one. Because more research -- the more e-mails I see containing information about advertising of government owned entities in other parts of the state, the more the.

Personnel matters and consultation with attorney exceptions. 40, receive briefing and take appropriate action on request to hire outside counsel for officer c. Hotard regarding montez versus Travis County et al, consultation with attorney. We have been asked by the county attorney to postpone item 41 until next week.
Turning to the items that we discussed in executive session, we did not discuss 37. That will be back on next week. 38 we ran out of time and did not discuss it either. 39 is request for extension of administrative leave with pay. I move that we extend administrative leave with pay five days beyond our policy and that will take this employee through August 12, 2008. Seconded by Commissioner Davis. Discussion? All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. Number 40, the matter involving officer c. Hotard, we move that we approve the request to hire outside legal counsel and we authorize county attorney's office to hire an appropriate lawyer for mr. Hotard if you chooses to use one.

On a-1, the matter involving the employee in slot number 7 we did discuss. We gave staff sort of directions and suggestion. That will be back on the Commissioners court next week for further consideration and action. A-2, the matter involving county employee charles kelly and the claims and eeoc charge that he has filed, we asked additional legal questions and asked that additional work be done for the court to be in a position to take action after further consideration next Tuesday. So a-1 and 2 will be back on the court's agenda on September 2nd.
