Item 1
Number one is a public hearing to receive comments on amendments to title 30, Travis County code, joint Travis County/city of Austin subdivision code for extraterritorial jurisdiction regarding the critical water quality zone (buffer) on the colorado river and public notification requirements.
>> move to open the public hearing.
>> second.
>> all in favor? That passes by unanimous vote.
>> anna bolin, Travis County t.n.r. We -- we came to court about a month ago and brought information and set the hearing for today. Since that time, we have advertised the hearing in the public, Austin american-statesman three times. And I have gotten a handful of information requests and people that -- that generally they just want more information. When I e-mailed them the information and I followed up and talked with them, the responses that I have gotten have been favorable. I did seek out one organization in particular, the chontoqua foundation to see if -- to get input from them because they may be impacted sorry and -- and they also viewed this as a very favorable addition to title 30. Again, there are two things that we are discussing, one of which was initiated by the city of Austin, that is the proposed change to the colorado river buffer to basically measure the buffers from the high water -- ordinary high water marked as opposed to center line of the river. And then the second we're initiating which is a proposed code change dealing with public notice in the city of Austin e.t.j.
>> this public hearing is to allow residents an opportunity to give comments on this matter. Would anyone like to give testimony during this public hearing?
>> move that the public hearing be closed.
>> second.
>> all in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. I will need another week on this.
>> okay.
>> I don't have any issues. I'm not sure that I know enough to have issues, but I will know next Tuesday.
>> okay.
>> is there any pressure to move -- immediately?
>> I don't believe so.
>> okay. Then I will need another week on item no. 20. If it doesn't do harm, just to give me a -- additional time to -- but we'll have it back on next week.
