18 is to consider and take appropriate action on optional local fees, county road and bridge fee and child safety fee, for the calendar year 2009 relating to the registration of vehicles in Travis County.
>> be these are fees that Travis County has leveed. Every county is authorized to levee two optional fees. One is the county road and bridge fee and the other is the child safety fee that are charged for vehicle registrations within the county. Much like most of the counties in Texas, we charge $10 for the county road and bridge fee and 1.50 for the child safety fee. The county road and bridge fee goes into the maintenance of county roads throughout the county. And the child safety fees goes to the crossing guards that we administer in conjunction with the schools. And we're recommending that we with continue to levee these fees for 2009.
