Travis County Commissioners Court

Item 6
Were we postponing on 6?
>> number 6, consider and take appropriate action regarding the process and schedule for developing the advertisement for the public hearing to set elected officials' salaries for fiscal year 2009 and the calendar for action for the remainder of the salary setting process. Based on everything we have heard, you all, we may well be looking at that 3.5% rather than 4%. And that's even if we have some significant favorable developments between now and, say, September.
>> but this just sets the feeling and we're able to cut it back, but we would not increase it if we don't set it.
>> yeah, I do also think that -- belinda powell from planning and budget office. Barbara wilson may have some more advice that she also would like to give in executive session on this issue today before you take action. We have two ads in front of you today at two different ranges. If you would like me to run through anything, if not -- we absolutely must have an action, must have an action no later than July 8thif you don't take action today.
>> let's try to take action today depending on what happens in executive session. So we will take number 6 into executive session under the consultation with attorney exception to the open meetings act.
