Travis County Commissioners Court
February 12, 2008
Item A1
There is a matter, a-1, that is a request to cancel a public hearing that is set for next Tuesday. No, it's set for two weeks away. It is to consider and take appropriate action on request to cancel public hearing set for February 26th, 2008 pursuant to chapter 26 of the Texas parks and wildlife code in response to requests by brushy creek regional utility to construct a raw water line within sandy creek park and Travis County. I understand that by canceling this public hearing, when the decision is made to put it back on, we still have to meet a 30-day notice requirement. But Commissioner Daugherty is interested in further working with the applicants, so some of the most controversial, objectionable parts or options may well have been worked out by then and we may not have to deal with them.
>> judge, we most likely will have to do a chapter 26. But it's just that the bcrua, the brushy creek folks, are trying to do additional engineering. It may take them anywhere from it 45 to 60 days. They do realize that that will necessitate -- there will be a chapter 26 hearing on this, but it's just not ripe right now, given the fact that this is what they're trying to do.
>> that's why I second your motion to approve the item. Right?
>> yes.
>> discussion? Faif favor? All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote.
