Travis County Commissioners Court
February 5, 2008
Item 32
We see our consultants have arrived. That means that it's time for the number 32. To accept and open bids relating to and consider and take appropriate action on an order authorizing the issuance of $23,23,000 Travis County Texas unlimited tax road bonds series 2008 and matters pertaining there toe.
>> the one you called up was the road bonds?
>> yes, sir.
>> good morning, judge, Commissioners, lad pa tilla, your bond adviser. We received bids at ten on the road bonds and the other two that will come up next. Travis County had its rating of aaa on all the issues reconfirmed by moody's and standard and poor's. There's a real push to get natural aaa today's because the insurance companies have been downgraded because of the morgue problems. So we have some very good bids. On the road bonds we have handed it out to you there, piper jaffrey had had the low bid of 4.051982 and the cover for them was ubs at 4.06. I thought that was very strong. I believe last time we sold 20-year level debt road bond was up if in the 4.30.
>> move approval.
>> I would recommend approval? Anymore.
>> anymore discussion?
>> did first child participate?
>> they bid but they didn't win. They were a bidder but they came in like third or fourth place. So they are not buying.
>> I can't vote on had a--on that.
>> I understand.
>> I abstain.
>> wreckation is to piper?
>> piper jaffrey.
>> anymore discussion? All in favor. Show commission, eckhardt, Gomez Daugherty, yours truly voting
>> [ph] favor. Er Davis abstaining.
