>> move the public hearing be open.
>> second.
>> all in favor? That passes by unanimous vote.
>> good morning. Travis County receives community development block grant funds from h.u.d. Annually to provide services for affordable housing, community development and also economic development. 2006 was our first year to receive these funds and at the end of the year which runs --we are required to provide a report on our performance 90 days after the conclusion of our program year. So what we're requesting today is to receive comment on our performance of which we had $838,639 to spend in community development block grant funds. We had no program income that we estimated. We also committed $838,659 to five different projects, and as of September 30th, we've expended no cdbg dollars. In our first year we created -- made progress in all five projects. We actually deleted one, reprogrammed funds and we've made progress to implement all four projects and so we expect that in our current program year of '07 we will expend quite a -- several hundred thousand dollars that we were not able to do in the first year.
>> as far as the beginning of the project for the money set aside to do that particular project, will that be a running tab, I guess, on the status of those projects, the beginning and also conclusion of those projects so we'll, you know, keep abreast of what's out there? How will that take place or how will you do that?
>> well, yeah, we can report to you in a couple of different ways. H.u.d. Requires we report quarterly through their data management system so we can provide to the court an updated printout on the amount of funds expended per project.
>> okay.
>> and also the progress in terms of meeting perform anxious measures and program goals.
>> exactly. The reason I asked that, I didn't want to see a project that's sitting out there and for some reason it gets stalled. You know, it doesn't reach its final destination so I was concerned about that part of it.
>> the other thing that we've committed to do with you is that in the spring of each year as we look forward to the next program year and developing projects, evaluate where we are with -- wherever we are in terms of implementation. For this year it will be for years 1 and 2. We'll come to you with an analysis and evaluation of where the projects are at this time, if we feel like we need to reprogram any money, if we need to cancel any projects or if we need to postpone them and fund them through the next time.
>> okay. Thank you.
>> so those wishing to see a copy of the full report may go to our website.
>> and also to one of the seven Travis County community centers. And there is opportunity to continue to comment in writing until December 20th at 5:00 p.m. The website is www.travis.u.s. There is a loing the home page so you can click directly to the consolidated plan.
>> would anyone like to give testimony during this public hearing? If so, please come forward.
>> move the public hearing be closed.
>> second.
>> all in favor? That passes by unanimous vote.
