>> now, number 3 a, declare Tuesday, October 30, 2007 as Travis County employee recognition day. Move approval.

>> discussion? All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. 3 b present certificates of recognition to employees completing 20, 25, 30 and 40 years of service. To Travis County.

>> I'm linda Moore smith director of human resources, to my left is Karen stitel who coordinates this annual recognition each year. We have today some 96 employees and 35 of them and their co-workers and friends and family members are with us today to recognize them for service between 20 and 40 years of service to Travis County. On the average, we always like to report to you that this group collectively has some 180 years of service. They represent that -- that cumulative average years of service to Travis County throughout all of our departments as an exciting time, not only for us to recognize them, but to visit with them in the hallways as well as their family friends and co-workers.

>> I'm having a hard time hearing. Will people in the hallways, close the doors, the people in the hallway need to be a little quieter if they can. We do have an important program to try to get done with. If we are able to go ahead and do it, we should be able to do it fairly quickly. The more interruptions that we have, the longer we take.

>> you know, judge, I believe we are at the point of being ready to call the groups in as I mentioned before. We have 35 of 96 employees who deserve the recognition today of 20 to 40 years of service with Travis County. We congratulate them and are ready to present them to you.

>> all right. Should we be right here or come out front.

>> we would like for you to come on down, we will be presenting them in groups, Karen? Recognize them?

>> right.

>> okay. Here's the order. We're going to bring you in by groups, take a group picture, if you want individual pictures the photographer will meet you in the hallway afterwards to do that for you and you can pick up the certificates if you don't already have them. The first group is the 40 year group. We have one recipient, a brave soul, judy mccown.

>> [ applause ]

>> the next group is our 30 year group, four of them in there. Ronnie earle is here.

>> [ applause ] to represent that group.
