>> number 11 is to consider and take appropriate action on a request to approve the tus canny way extension interlocal cooperation agreement with the city of Austin for the completion of the tus canny way roadway improvement project in precinct one.

>> good morning, judge and Commissioners, I'm steve mallow for tnr public works. This agreement will revise an existing agreement we have had with city of Austin since 2002 for agreement with our cip project in northeast Travis County. The purpose of the interlocal is to expand the responsibilities of the stin and also to increase the amount of funds that they will be providing to complete the construction. The responsibility expansion involves them taking the lead on acquiring right-of-way. Most of the project for the tus canny way north is in the city limits and they want to take the lead on acquiring that right-of-way and they will also be paying for that, which is part of why they are increasing the cost share. The other piece of it is that construction costs have escalate the over the years. So their prices increased as well as ours. We recommend approval of the interlocal.

>> this is one that has been around for a while.

>> uh-huh.

>> even as you were Commissioner it was around thin. Apparently we are moving in the right direction. Steve, if you can tell me for those residents that really have really look at this to divert traffic from going through the walnut trace neighborhood beating into 290, with the things on the table today, the cost sharing agreement and the city looking at the acquisition of right-of-way and stuff like that, how long would you think it would take for this project to be completed? If it was to, was in a time frame.

>> sure, Commissioner. If we were to start today I think it would be about two years before you would have that roadway open.

>> two years.

>> right. The reason being, the first thing that has to take place, the city has to go acquire the right-of-way.

>> right.

>> that could take anywhere from three to 12 months. What the city would do is similar to what we do, and that is ask the property owner for a right of entry. That would allow us to go ahead and start sooner. As soon as we got a right of entry we could start the utility relocation and then get on with advertising and awarding the construction contract. It could be anywhere from 15 to I think 24 months depending how well we do at getting the right-of-way acquired.

>> with that, I looked at it pretty thoroughly and I guess, like I said, this has been been around a while. I'd like to go ahead and move approval.

>> she can.

>> let's the residents know that eats been a long time coming but looks like we have finally got through the door on this one and moving in the right deck shun to get that tuscany project completed and moving forward.

>> anymore discussion? All in favor. That passes by unanimous vote.
