Travis County Commissioners Court

Item 21
The budget rules, we had a chance to look at last week budget rules 21, consider and take appropriate action on fy '08 budget rules. Item number 21. Any suggestions, recommendations? Recommended changes sm.
>> good morning, there is one recommended change that we sent to your offices on Friday. The proposed change came from the sheriffs office. It has been reviewed both by county attorney's office and county auditors office as well as pbo. The change is included on the first page in a memo from myself to the Commissioners court and has to do with very special situations of emergency nature, public safety deployment, and it is to provide necessary food and beverage expenditures related to those emergency or time critical public safety deployments. I'm happy to answer any questions that you may have about that. We also have included as housekeeping the pop scale approved by Commissioners court during mark-up that has now been calculated by pbo, and that is attached and would be included in the budget rules with approval of the Commissioners court.
>> chest or comments?
>> --questions or comments?
>> I don't think there is any problem. Would we have to follow with purchasing as to why this is done on an emergency basis is this.
>> I i think this would be very rare circumstances and would be closely coordinated through auditor esoffice as well as purchasing and pbo.
>> and purchasing?
>> I dropped the ball there. I did not include purchasing. I will run it up right now. If there are any concerns I will come back to you this afternoon do you need to do that today or can we do it next week?
>> you need to adopt them today.
>> if we need to amend them next week we can do that.
>> yes.
>> I would let purchasing know.
>> I will do that right now.
>> discussion? All in favor. That passes by unanimous vote. There are a couple other budget items. Hopefully we can deal with them a bit more efficiently.
