Travis County Commissioners Court
September 18, 2007
Item 27
27 is to consider and take appropriate action on holiday schedule effective October 1, 2007, through December 31, 2008, in accordance with the Travis County code sections 10.043, holidays, and 10.044, personal days. We just lay these out here. We have had pretty much the same holidays for years now, haven't we?
>> yes, we have, judge. There are no additional holidays that have been added. Travis County does offer eleven holidays, paid holidays, along with the three personal holidays for employees. The schedule that we have before you now is typically approved or considered by the court during the budget process beginning October 1 through December 31, this particular one through 2008. As we come pair with the city of Austin, the state of Texas, as well as bexar and other counties we found that counterparts offer 1 1 had-12 paid holidays. With that we are recommended to the court that you take action on the schedule before you.
>> so moved.
>> second.
>> so those that have one holiday move, what hole di do they recognize that we don't?
>> usually, I don't have it identified specifically here, but it could be that--
>> okay.
>> --that they would off an additional day during the christmas holiday than what we would offer or also over thanksgiving holiday.
>> do they offer three personal days?
>> no, not in general.
>> I feel a whole lot better now. Discussion? All in favor. That passes by unanimous vote.
>> thank you.
>> thank you.
