Number 1 is a public hearing to receive comments regarding the Travis County tax rate for f.y. '08 county budget.

>> all in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. And Commissioners court eckhardt is a bit under the weather this morning but will try to warn us as soon as possible. Christian? If you would give us your 60-second overview. By the way, we'll have the introductions next.
>> current tax rate is 44.99 cents. The Commissioners court has voted to propose a tax rate of 42.16 cents in fiscal year '08. That is 2.9% above. With the increase in average homesteads going from 225,000 to 244,000, the average tax is a result of that proposal would go from about 810 a year to about $822 a year or an increase of about $12 a year or equal to about 1 dollar a month. This is the first of two public hearings. The second public hearing is think Friday at 9:00 a.m. And then the Commissioners court is scheduled to adopt the final tax rate next Tuesday, September 25th, at 9:00 a.m.
