5. Consider and take appropriate action on a request to approve a participation agreement with the deer creek ranch property owners association for the improvement and acceptance of a portion of panorama drive, in precinct 3.

>> good morning, judge, Commissioners, I'm steve

>> [indiscernible] from t.n.r. Public works. What's presented before you today is an agreement between Travis County and the deer creek ranch property owners association. For the purpose of improving a section of panorama drive, which is a main thoroughfare through their subdivision, improving it to the points where it can be meeting county standards, so it can be accepted into the county main obtained system. The deer creek ranch area is a very large subdivision, right now it has about 200 families in it. Many roads within it that are not on the county maintained system. Very important condition in many cases. This is a first step that this property owners association is taking with us to share the costs of it. They are putting money into the project as well as in kind services. To help -- to help making sure that the project happens. As you may recall in the past when we have dealt with such projects, the county would fund them entirely, we would get well into the design, we would come into a lot of road blocks with folks who did not want to dedicate right-of-way, did not want to move the private improvements out of the roadway right-of-way. Using this method of getting the project done put some of their own money into it, we hope will give them the impetus to complete the project effectively and efficiently. We recommend the approval of this agreement.

>> so the participation agreement basically provides what?

>> the -- the property owners association will provide 37,150 in cash, what we estimate to be $10,000 worth of engineering services. Their -- they have an engineer who lives in the neighborhood who will be working with my staff to complete the construction documents for -- for bidding. What will happen once we get the construction documents completed and we bid them out, we will come back to court, when it's time to award the contract, we will accept you to accept on to the county system this segment of roads so we can go ahead and complete the improvements. The county will manage the construction phase of the project. For 1300 feet of panorama drive.

>> the county's portion is 150,000.

>> no, ma'am, the county's portion will be 150 minus the 37250, so it's about 100,000, that's our preliminary estimate.

>> questions? Move approval.

>> second.

>> thank you.

>> discussion? All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote.

>> thank you, steve.
