[21. RECEIVE AND DISCUSS AS NECESSARY THE SECOND REVENUE ESTIMATE FOR THE FY 2008 BUDGET PROCESS. (COUNTY AUDITOR)]

>> [one moment please for change in captioners]

>> ... I'm happy to say there's not a whole lot of change on the first one, the total general fund is 212.4 million. Beginning balance and therefore the total are down a little bit, first revenue estimate, based our forecast revenues, increase in the forecast expenditures this year, but that is not that unusual this early in the process. The tax rate is 33.31 centss, the revenue is the same within the first estimate, and there are no budget request packages. In the second estimate of course we include all the other funds, we have everything except the risk management fund, that will be the third -- third estimate. I would note that the debt service -- excuse me -- debt service fund is 8.2 centss. We have included two new other funds, child abuse prevention fund and the family protection fund, one of those we have some money now and the other one has some -- had been there a couple of years ago, there were some legal questions, we had to retire it, but the last legislative session took care of that. We're bringing that back. Other than that, the other funds are pretty much as they are most years. Don't really have a lot of comments for you this morning. I would be glad to answer any questions that you have on this estimate. Obviously the one that we give you next time will be the one which is the preliminary budget.

>> close to what we got last time.

>> yes, sir, the last one was general fund, 450 million, about 412, taxes are the same. We try not to have them jump around a rot on you, but they're not too far off.

>> questions? When we certified the -- I mean -- how did we treat the scant funds, the money we get from federal government for really housing inmates.

>> we handle that as it comes in.

>> but do we certify any revenue?

>>

>> [inaudible]

>> yeah, but the reason I ask the question is for this year, I received an e-mail a few days ago that the federal government had notified us that the check would be in the mail shortly, so my question really is whether that is part of the '07 revenue certification or not.

>> no.

>> because we just don't know.

>> okay.

>> we think we're going to get it, we have no idea how much. But we wait for those e-mails the way you do.

>> okay. That's fine, thank you very much, we'll await the next one.
