>> let's try to get the cd b g item in and then we'll try to get in number 30. 28 is to consider and take appropriate action on assumptions regarding the following, a, no, that is the one we just did. C b g is number 18. Review and approve the posting of the following draft for public comment as related to the use of community development block grant funding through the u.s. Department of housing and urban develop am. A, the substantial amendment to the program year 2006 action plan. B, amendment to the 2006-20 2006-2010 consolidated plan strategic direction, c, program year 2007 action plan, and d, other related items.

>> good morning, judge, Commissionerrs sherry flemming, executive manage for health and human services and ret advance services. This item is before you for staff to request your approval to post the substantial amendment and the proposed plan year two plan, action plan, sorry. And this item is related to the award that the county has received from the u.s. Department of housing and urban development. The award amount this year is 838,659. Travis County is required to submit an action plan each year to tell the federal government how we plan to spend the dollars. The action plan is due by August 15 of each year. Staff has been before you several times so far this year to discuss with you potential projects and also the substantial amendment to last year's plan, actually. And so today we are requesting your approval to post these changes for public comment for 30 days, and to remind the public as we discuss this with you today of the public hearings that will be coming forward over the next 30 days to discuss your plan for expenditure of these dollars.

>> we have discussed these several times. The substantial amendment is the $5,000.

>> yes. The substantial amendment is deleting the youth services project from cd b g funding. The those services will still occur however the funds will come from the hñmp s--hss general fund budget and we are requesting to reallocate those dollars to the apache shores project.

>> you need authorization to advertise and take public comment.

>> and to post the document for public comment.

>> can we put on the public record and state.

>> the public comment period is from June 20, tomorrow, to July 19. And then there are going to be two public hearings here at Commissioners court, the first one next Tuesday, 26th nine a.m., and the last one will be on July 10 at six p.m.

>> any other highlights we need to hear at this time?

>> we could if you like review the investments for plan year two. We have the proposed direction.

>> the county judge has heard those many, many times.

>> yes, you have , judge . I didn't want you to be disappointed.

>> the public will have an opportunity not only to read our work but also to provide comment at public hearings or submit comments by e-mail in wril.

>> that is correct.

>> these two documents.

>> those are the working documents. What you have today are the final versions of amendment to strategic direction which announces the movement from 17 high priority categories to seven. The changes to the action plan and also the '07 plan. And we included for you the summary document of all three actions in english and in spanish. Will also be sending thin who attended public hearings and provided contact information will be receiving a copy of the summary, either via e-mail or regular mail. We will be putting that in the mail tomorrow.

>> in terms of the use of public comment, all comments that are received during the process will be provided to court for discussion and any potential action that the court wants to consider at the close of the public hearing process or the public comment process, excuse me.

>> actually, the only change in anything that you have received were either spelling or grammatical grammatical errors, and we also added the attachment to the plan that you had thought received last week.

>> okay. In that case I move we approve the postings of the following drafts for public comment as related to the use of the cdbg fund zñg second.

>> how do you literally get this in spanish? Do you have somebody that speaks and writes spanish and say go rewrite this ?

>> there is a contractor that we send our drafts to and they translate them for us.

>> and what would the cost be ?

>> for the summary ?

>> for this thing in spanish spanish?

>> for the summarirb it costs about $368. We have not had to, we don't indicate in the participation plan that we have to translate our entire consolidated plan. So I have no idea how much that would cost. But the summary is six pages and it costs about 368.

>> if somebody wanted more detail, we would provide a spanish speaking person--

>> correct, we can have several options in which people can be fully informed of the plan.

>> now we have been advised by cscd that they would like another week to prepare further on item number 30.

>> we'd like, judge, we had some information that we're gathering that we are hope hopeful to have today. Excuse me. We will have it by next week.

>> roger, what item are you here on? You are traveling in good company these days, roger. That may bring us to executive session. We do need to take lunch.

>> one of us has had a speech to give at 11:30. And so we ought to work to 1 11:30, right? We may want, 25 is, tell you what, let's get 25, if we don't take the revenue today we can do it another time. I don't see anybody on that. Let's see if we can get our lawyer down here
