>> okay. Would you? Yeah. Thanks. 12. Discuss and take appropriate action on request to amend the timeline for appointment of Travis County healthcare district board members.
>> good afternoon, Commissioner, sherri flemming, executive manager for health and human services and veterans service. Staff have before you today a recommendation to modify the time line that you previously approved about in 2005 for the appointment or reappointment process for the health care district board of managers. Just by way of a little background, after the implementation of the health care district, staff came to court in collaboration with the health care district staff to put in place a process whereby we would notify you of the impending end of -- of the term for one of your appointees and then initiate a process either to reappoint that particular person or to solicit recommendations from the community for replacement. And essentially what this change will do is move the -- the selection process out of the budget cycle. Our current process is initiated when we notify you of the term expiring. Then if you will the processings on through the summer, actually where we are soliciting and interviewing if necessary with our new appointee in place by August 1st. Which puts the -- the selection process in the budget cycle. And if you will recall last year we actually did delay it just a bit, your appoint camp mabry last year agree -- appointee last year degreed to serve until we completed the budget cycle, then we made the new appointment. What you have before you today is a modification of that time line which would initiate the process now that -- that currently begins in April, but it will -- the new process will call for the process to be initiated in -- in by September 15th. Which would start with notice to the court that either your appointee is -- has a term that is expiring and that either wishes to be reappointed or we will need to go into a solicitation to fill the vacancy. And then you can see there that the processings on from September with the new appointee in place by December 31st.
