Item 4 approve a proclamation designated in the month of may of 2007 as hispanic cultural awareness month" in Travis County; and recognize the twenty-first annual "cinco de mayo" celebration in Travis County and the 12th annual combined city/county cinco de mayo celebration. Two members of the committee working on the cinco de mayo celebration are here to receive the proclamation. And I guess I can read this. Whereas 2007 marks the 145th anniversary of the battle of pueblo, in which men and women led by general zaragosa from goliad, Texas, successfully defended themselves against french troops and Travis County began hosting a cinco de mayo celebration in order to keep alive the spirit of community that is signified by the battle of pueblo, to recognize the men and women who fought as well as those who still worked to ensure our -- ensure our freedom. Whereas this year's marks the 12th annual combined city of Austin and Travis County celebration, sponsored by many elected and appointed officials and department heads along with the downtown Austin alliance. And whereas Travis County will celebrate cinco de mayo at wooldridge park from 11:00 a.m. To 2:00 p.m. On Friday, may 4th, featuring the mariachi and folklorico dancers. Therefore be it proclaimed that the Travis County Commissioners court does hereby recognize the 145th anniversary of cinco de mayo. And encourages all citizens to participate in Friday's festivities. Furthermore, we hereby designate may as hispanic cultural awareness month in Travis County, Texas and encourage all citizens to participate in this month-long celebration of hispanic culture, I move approval.

>> second.

>> any comments?

>> well, we would just like to encourage everybody to come out and enjoy the festivities, food and -- and the -- the friends that are out there to visit with, take the opportunity to do that. We will have city booths out there, giving out educational information. This year we are going to have a fire truck out there for any of the neighboring schools that may come out. We manage to get councilmember mike martinez to get a fire truck out there. Just for a little bit. But at least the children coming from the neighboring schools to visit it. We just encourage everyone to come out and hopefully not, but if it does rain, we will set up in the san antonio garage in the first level.

>> well, I think that we have ordered some really good weather for Friday. It's going to rain between here and Thursday and cool things down, Friday is supposed to be sunshine.

>> we are keeping our fingers crossed.

>> where is this?

>> wooldridge park.

>> is it something similar going on, auditorium shores? During this month?

>> could be.

>> there's a lot of different --

>> yes.

>> different events. Okay. Thank you.

>> thank you so much,.

>> thank you. All those in favor? All right. Thank you. .
