Executive Session
Does that get us to executive session?
>> I did chat with david escamilla a couple of days ago about the questions that I sent him regarding 37, and he says that he probably needs another week on those. And in view of the article that I read this past weekend, there seems to be no big rush on that. So we can wait. But there are legal questions that sort of come to mind that to be honest I cannot remember the specifics of the interlocal on e.m.s. So I think that will be good for us.
>>
>> [ inaudible ].
>> yeah, instead of next week, maybe the week after that because I would like to get the briefing myself. That would be may eighth.
>> > number 34 is to consider and take appropriate action regarding potential purchase of property along airport boulevard in central Austin. That's the real estate exception to the open meetings act. 35, consider and take appropriate action on an offer to trade to Travis County .316-acres, 13,776 square feet, of undeveloped and vacant land for use as right-of-way in construction of old manor road bridge number 113 in exchange for .23-acre of excess unused right-of-way on duke road in precinct 1. That's the consultation with attorney and real estate exceptions to the open meetings act. 36, receive briefing from the county attorney and take appropriate action in Travis County, et al, versus center hill joint venture, reza rezaee resale deed, and frank yi resale deed. I don't know if that's ready, but let's call it anyway. 37 we pope. 38, conduct interview of brad beauchamp regarding appointment of Travis County fire marshal and take appropriate action. That's the consultation with attorney and personnel matters exception to the open meetings act. And by the way, 36 will be the consultation with attorney exception to the open meetings act. We'll discuss these matters in executive session, but will return to open court before taking any action.
we have returned from executive session where we discussed the announced items including 34 regarding the opportunity to purchase property along airport boulevard in central Austin. Is there a motion? Let's just direct staff to go ahead and put together facts necessary to help us determine whether to proceed with the purchase of land that may be available. We'll have this back on the court's agenda, say if two weeks--in two weeks, and proceed from there.
>> second.
>> and that is the motion, apparently. Discussion? All in favor. That passes by unanimous vote. 35, I move that we approve the recommended trade and authorize staff to proceed to take the steps necessary to meet the statutory requirements.
>> second.
>> discussion? All in favor. That passes by unanimous vote. 36, I move that we follow staff recommendation and reject both of the bid received, and we that indicate our intention to revise the bidding procedures to avoid situations like this in the future.
>> second.
>> discussion? All otherwise improve our procedures. All in favor. That passes by unanimous vote. Number 37 involves, we didn't discuss that, we announced the postponement until may 8 of '07. 38, we did conduct the interview of mr. Brad beanuc beanuchamp. There are a couple of issues that we need to engage other county staff on for us between now and next Tuesday Tuesday. So we will have this matter back on the agenda next Tuesday for consideration of the information we are provided and appropriate follow-up action. And that does it for today.
>> move adjourn.
>> all in favor. That carries unanimously.
