Item 32

And I think that brings us to 32 which is to consider and take appropriate action on request from capital area council of governments, capcog, to appoint three elected officials to the capital area retail transportation planning organization, cartpo. Cartpo is like a new little campo, really the city officials are more active there. A couple of times in the past they clashed with campo --

>> should we ask the same folks that we had touched on -- on small city membership in campo to see if they are interested in this as well, so we could --

>> I think that we not only ought to, but we ought to send a similar letter and we ought to try to make the appointment of -- here we have three, right? Three officials rather than one. We have gotten a couple of letters of interest already. Send a letter to the same judges, see who is interesting. Cartpo is has been up and running for quite some time. Some of the mayors have been participating anyway. If we get this item, try to have it back on the court's agenda, if we set like an April 30th deadline, I will be out the first Tuesday --

>> no.

>> I will be here on --

>> we can either have it back on the first agenda, either the first of may or the 8th.

>> I will be back on the first.

>> should we rework the questionnaire, to be applicable to the -- to the cartpo?

>> I think that I had to do -- I would do something a little simpler because I think -- I would do something much simpler myself. If you are interested in searching an attending meetings, I think this is where we can kind of turn you loose.

>> why wouldn't we just say if you are interested in this, you submit your name, we are going to pull three out of a hat. I mean as opposed to how many -- I don't know that we will have a lot. The most difficult thing, judge, with cartpo is getting people there. They came to capcog, but cartpo, mayor murphy out of bee cave she says I would really like to be there. She is one that comes now. So I think there's clearly some there that have been coming.

>> will commit.

>> commit to coming. You pick them, anybody else, I don't think you are going to have a ton, but if you have 'em --

>> have you been going.

>> yeah.

>> I stopped going.

>> I started going because we sort of reinstituted it.

>> that gets us down to one then. Mayor

>> [indiscernible] I went for a long time, ceased going, it's hard to get back into it. Maybe we are looking at -- mayor murphy and bee cave have been going.

>> she definitely would like to.

>> she's interested. So I don't know -- I don't have any problem with her continuing. That just creates one more slot for us.

>> although I think it would be valuable to at least let the other small cities know that this opportunity exists just to see if there is additional interest.

>> well, send the -- the same thing we September out, are you interested in blanking to cartpo, I don't have any interest in interviewing for this deal.

>> no, neither do i. My hope is that we could choose bath campo and cartpo from the same pool, same issue area.

>> I would be surprised if the level of interest in cartpo is the same as -- as campo, but I could be surprised.

>> although the issue jury is the -- pretty much spot on.

>> similar letter in the mail, deadline for interest 30th of -- of April? Back on the court's agenda, put it back on may 1 or may 8th?

>> let's do may 8th.

>> I will be back. That'sfine with me.

>> if you all want to proceed with without me on may 1 that's fine.

>> if we do it by may 8th, we can still get it back to cartpo. If we get them all back, I mean, I think we can make that call that day.

>> they hope to begin transitioning the new membership by the may 4th meeting. Is that I'm happy with the 1st if you don't care.

>> fine with me. Let's move the deadline back to -- I would say the Friday before.

>> before the 22nd?

>> April 27th. Next Friday.

>> April 27th.

>> yeah.

>> Friday of next week, that way if it's on the court's agenda on may 1st, see what I'm saying, you have got a few days to see what you've got.

>> yeah. Without objection we will make that happen. Okay.
