6. Consider and take appropriate action on the approval of a variance to chapter 82.401 (c)(4), standards for construction of streets and drainage in subdivisions to allow the acceptance of dedication of a portion of street and drainage facilities in cardinal hills unit 3, a subdivision in precinct 3. Joe, why should we do this?
>> this is -- this is -- again this is a substandard subdivision, cardinal hills it's up in the Lakeway area, and what has occurred here is the owner of these lots have -- basically gone in and upgraded the roadways to meet county standards. Kind of unusual in a way. We typically get requests for the county to come in and upgrade substandard roads and in this case the owner went ahead and took it upon himself to finance it and do it. But when it comes to accepting the roads for ongoing maintenance, we would have to grant a variance according to our own rules to allow us to pick up those roads without picking up the entire subdivision.
