A-2 came from our Texas agriculture department Commissioner, Commissioner todd stapleton. And the Commissioner requested that Travis County and other counties throughout the state honor his proclamation that March 18th through 24th, 2007 be natural agriculture week in the state of Texas. We did this last year and it seemed to me an appropriate thing to do this year. And if I could just read a couple of parts of it so that our public would be aware of some of the facts that the state agriculture department is trying to get out first of all that March 18th through 24th is national agriculture week in Texas and that is next week, which is why it's important for us to get it on this week. Whereas agriculture is important to our county, state and nation because it begins with the growing and harvesting of food, fiber and horticulture and ends with everything we eat, wear and use. Next whereas clause, we all should appreciate the role agriculture plays in maintaining a strong economy and in providing a safe, abundant and affordable food and fiber supply now and for years to come. And the final whereas that I think is real important, the lone star state leads the nation in the number of farms and ranches with almost 80% of the land involved in some form of agricultural production, including livestock, crops, aqua culture, horticulture and forestry, a point I guess I had forgotten. And basically what we do is to proclaim the week March 18th through 24th of 2007 as national agriculture week, the same as the state Commissioner, and we encourage all residents in Travis County to learn more about the role of agriculture, share that knowledge with young people and recognize the farmers, rarchers and their families who contribute so much to Travis County, the state of Texas, the nation and the world. Move approval. I apologize for that because what I did was they sent over really a small book of information and I kind of pulled out five or six whereas clauses, but all the clauses came from them as well as the declaration, which I think is a good thing to do.

>> eye like to take the chance to make a plug for what agricultural land is left in Travis County. And that an additional plug for senate bill 1690 because it could really help preserve it.

>> for the record my folks were ag producers in east Texas be. When I was a kid I used to spend two weeks every summer down there as an ag producer myself. Up until I was big came to the
