Number 3 is a public hearing to receive comments regarding a request to temporarily close big view drive to through traffic from josh lane to panther hollow in precinct three for the "cold fusion sizzler" slalom skateboard races to be held on February 24, 2007 from 8:00 a.m. To 4:00 p.m

>> > move that the public hearing be opened.

>> second.

>> all in favor? That passes unanimously.

>> well, I don't know if you all are familiar with the big view drive, but it's almost straight down. I can't believe that these guys have the courage to do this. But they are asking our permission to close the road periodically through the day to have this -- I guess what it is is a -- a competition on skate boards, yeah, skate board. So I haven't heard of any objection to the closure. They will open the road periodically to let the traffic through. But this will be an exciting race. I think that I may go out to watch it.

>> I guess the question that you have is what kind of liability do we have at all? Any?

>> > we have a release of liability and a certificate of insurance from the -- from the organizer of the race. And I would imagine they have also received from the competitors themselves some -- some release of liability.

>> so it will be open to -- to through traffic during the 15 minute intervals?

>> that's right. Now, there's -- in truth, there's probably not a whole lot of development at the base of that -- of that road. Most of the development is up further up on -- in river hills. River place. So -- so it is -- it is a stretch of road that goes down to lake Austin, along the side of the hill, fairly steep, around -- and I would imagine there's a whole lot of traffic that would intervene during the race.

>> February 24th, pretty much all day.

>> pretty much all day.

>> would anyone like to give testimony during this public hearing?

>> move to close the public hearing.

>> second. All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. This will be action item no. 9.
