2. Consider and take appropriate action on the following related to the use of community development block grant (cdbg) funding from the united states department of housing and urban development: 2 a public hearing dates for the development of plan year 2007 action plan; b. Advertisements for public hearing dates for the development of the plan year 2007 action plan; c. Plan year 2006 grant agreement between Travis County and the u.s. Department of housing and urban development; an d. Other related issues.

>> good morning. I will -- I will move over to staff and let them talk through the various pieces of this backup. Happy to say that this is kind of a repeat of what we have already done. So we are -- we are having some learning here in terms of the community development block grant. So if you would go over the public hearings.
>> christie moffett Travis County health and human services. What you have attached in your backup is the proposed advertisement for the public hearing dates. These six public hearing dates are related to the planning for our second year of our consolidated plan related to community development black funding. We are -- block funding. We are expected to get a similar amount $838,659. These public hearings are related to our citizen participation plan which the court approved back in April of last year. This is to start collecting ideas from the community for our second year in funding. We have continued our good policy of having numerous public hearings.

>> the advertising we will have this translated into spanish both english and spanish version will go in the papers of general circulation. They will also be posted at the seven community centers throughout Travis County and sent out on listservs. Service providers.

>> yes.
>> that's correct. Staff in in this item is requesting authorization to advertise the public hearing process.
>> I'm like the judge now. What about channel 17. Did we do anything on channel 17 in the past?
>> we did not. But we will put the list of public hearings on channel 17.

>> yes.

>> c you have attached in your backup a copy of the grant agreement from the u.s. Department of housing and urban development. We have had it reviewed by the county attorney's office. You will also see the attached letter regarding their notations, questions and any changes. We added by to the signature line, which was the one change that the county attorney's office requested and have also responded to their question. And so we are requesting that you approve the county judge to sign the three originals, so that we can get that back to h.u.d. So we can start working on our first year's funding.
