Travis County Commissioners Court
December 22, 2006
Item 2
Number one is to consider and take appropriate action regarding the prohibition of outdoor burning in the unincorporated areas of Travis County and related matters.
>> good morning. Pete baldwin, Travis County emergency management coordinator. There's been no change. The rains we had a little bit last week were spotty. There were parts of the county that received way less than a fourth of an inch. Our total -- actually, our incomes on the Texas forest website, and after having visited with them yesterday have not changed significantly at all either way. So our recommendation is that we go ahead and put in a new outdoor burning ban because the one we are currently working under spies on the -- expires on the 27th and we would not be able to address it. So by doing one today, we will go ahead and roll that on into yarn and then review it every week.
>> and we renew one for 30 days, but every week we leave it on the agenda and review it.
>> yes, sir.
>> I move that we follow the recommendation and authorize the county yuj to sign the new order on behalf of the Travis County Commissioners court.
>> second.
>> discussion? All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote.
