Executive Session Items
I guess we can go into executive session for these two items and then come back. 24 is to receive briefing from county attorney and take appropriate action on proposed settlement offer regarding property claim of Travis County in tcems, is that Travis County emergency medical services? It is.

we are out of executive session after discussing the three items that we announced, we discussed number 11, and -- and probably no action today. We will have that back on the agenda on -- on October 31st. For -- for a follow-up discussion and hopefully action. Number 24, the matter involving the claim against marie I don't lopez, I moved that we approve the settlement offer made by the lopez, ms. Lopez and family, I guess.

Number 25 we discussed the lawsuit involving the northwest Austin municipal utility district number 1, versus alberto gonzalez, the attorney general of the united states. We did discuss this with legal counsel. It's a fairly complicated matter. Mr. Collins.

The people on our staff are familiar with the voting rights act, but we are not experts and this lawsuit involves the voting rights act. We think that it's an appropriate opportunity for you to look for lawyers to either associate with us or hire independently to advise you.
>> judge, I would -- I would move that the county attorney's office be directed to be prepared to have a list of attorneys to be presented to the Commissioners court by next Tuesday. To expedite the potential hiring of outside counsel, apprise of county of its best legal course in this particular case.
