23, consider and take appropriate action regarding the following liability claim recommendations. A is christopher belton, recommendation to settle.

>> afternoon, Commissioners. Donna sturman with risk management. This claim is in reference to a trust that was disbursed fraudulently to a wrong person who presented himself as the minor child. At the time the district clerks didn't have anything to cross-check that information. They did attempt to get hold of the attorney -- the plaintiff attorney to no avail. The attorney never responded and eventually they went ahead and disbursed the money on October 3rd of 2000. They did discover a little time later that when this christopher beltran's tr tried to come and get the other sister's money that something was amiss and it turns everything over to the district attorney and the county attorney to try to recover, but they had no luck. The correct christopher beltran has come forward now and is requesting his trust.

>> snb the county attorney's office assisted y'all with this?

>> they were sent copies of the backup material?

>> you mean now or back when it happened?

>> best answer is yesterday, but let's say recently.

>> my question was more focused in terms of errors and omission, but it's not really eligible to that in term of the circumstances. I asked for the clerk's office to give us a much more detailed verbatim than was in the risk report, which we all got this morning in terms of more details as to how it is that something like this could have happened in the way that it did happen. And that gave me a whole lot more information to be able to move on this.

>> we had the money 13 years and this mistake occurred two months ago.

>> the actually disbursement was in 2000. The legitimate trust minor came forth about two months ago.

>> and the statute of limitations wouldn't run against the minor?

>> no. He was actually eligible two years ago, and they can choose to come get the money whenever they would like. He just chose to loaf this in here. And when he came forward in July, around everyday we don't pay it, we're incurring interest.

>> move approval.

>> second.

>> discussion? We have in place with just to keep it from recurring.

>> they will be asking for identifying information that can be put in the file that can be used when someone comes to claim their trust.

>> I'm looking for yes.

>> yes.

>> all in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. B?

>> this is --

>> some minor detail is not only confusion, but we can convince me that we made our -- (indiscernible).

>> this is in reference to christinely blank. We settled her property damage claim in February. Her represented attorney presented medical in the amount of $6,006,131..67 for a hospital visit, x-rays, physical therapy, medical supplies. Their attorney made an additional demand of 21,000 and we negotiated it down to 13,000. We are negotiating to make this payment for her bodily injuries.

>> move approval.

>> second.

>> discussion? All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. Thank y'all very much.
