Travis County Commissioners Court
September 19, 2006
Item 39
39 should be really simple. I sent you the information that came from envision central Texas. The director out there is very strongly of the opinion that either a member of the Commissioner's court should be there or we should have somebody else like a county manager. This is for Friday, September 22, this Friday. Your county judge will be out of town that day. Otherwise I would volunteer for this excellent collaboration opportunity. We do have six outstanding managers that work directly for the court. Oliver home would probably welcome this opportunity and if no member of the court wants to go, I would suggest we draft one of them --
>> well, it's not a matter of not wanting to, but I have things that have been long scheduled in the mofng, afternoon and ink and so this would -- morning, afternoon and evening and so this would not work for me.
>> move we have a draft of one of our managers, and this is lost pines resort, and not the local holiday inn and by the way, I'm a holiday inn man, not being critical. But it's a beautiful resort. Lunch is free, and I haven't been there. I still long to go, so I move we authorize the county judge to chat with the managers and get an appropriate one to go down and represent Travis County and come back and give us an e-mail, written or in court, a status report of what happens.
>> second.
>> discussion? All those in favor. That passes by unanimous vote.
