Number 1 is a public hearing to receive public comment on the fiscal year 2007 tax rate and budget.

>> move the public hearing be open.

>> second.

>> all in favor? That passes by unanimous vote.

>> the second public hearing before you adopt the budget next Tuesday. The current status of the budget is that you have voted to decrease the tax rate from 49.93 to 44.99. That results in a decrease in the payment that the average homestead owner will pay from $813 to $810. The budget process is at the last stage of its development but still fluid. You will be making some decisions at 10:30, but this is to allow members of the public to provide even put to you on the budget and/or the tax rate.

>> would anyone like to give testimony during this public hearing?

>> I should announce that you are scheduled to adopt the budget at 9:00 a.m. Next Tuesday, September 26th.

>> and we will discuss that budget in more detail at about 10:30 this morning. We've done about 98% of the work. There are still some issues outstanding pieces dangling so we'll try to wrap it as tightly and possible and take final action next Tuesday.

>> move the public hearing be closed.

>> second.

>> all in favor? That passes by unanimous vote.
