Travis County Commissioners Court
September 5, 2006
Item 28
28 discuss and take appropriate action on budget amendments, transfers and discussion items.
>> good morning, Commissioners. There is an item that is a 1 for the expo center, earmark for ada issues at the expo center. Also discussion items, d 1 and d 2, which I believe is what the Commissioner wanted to discuss. The only reason that we have those as discussion items, it has been discussed with court in the past, but this is an advanced scrubbing, if you will, of a large amount of approximately 750,000, so we wanted to bring that to your attention, since markup begins tomorrow.
>> [indiscernible] basically these -- these [indiscernible] of water in that area, southeast metro, in other words it was one time we had someone else providing the water, garfield and now we are looking to somebody else to provide the water source for -- for that park. I just think that it wasn't a part of the backup. I thought it should be publicly known.
>> we currently take water from the garfield water supply corporation that is potable water. We pay about $2.66 per thousand gallons. This will be drawing water instead of a preset piece of property that the county now own was the possibility that we can also supplement that with intake from the colorado river itself. But we are looking for a raw water supply for the irrigation of our fields at southeast metro park.
>> okay. I wanted to -- it publicly known the source. Of the water. In the changed.
>> move approval.
>> second.
>> of course the money is allocated reserve.
>> to allocated reserves within existing certificates of obligation.
>> but this is a commitment that we have -- that we made a long time ago, we have done -- we spent money to get the design done.
>> it is under design currently.
>> okay.
>> discussion of the motion? All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote.
>> thank you.
