Number 2 is a public hearing to receive comments on fiscal year 2007 elected officials salaries and allowances.

>> good morning, deanna ramirez with the planning and budget office, joined by belinda powell, also the planning and budget office. The public notice to the citizens on the proposed maximum salaries for owe-- for fy 2007 for elected officials in Travis County was -- was published in the Austin chronicle on August the 10th. The -- the chronicle, for some reason is dated the next day, August 11th, but it was on newsstands on the 10th. You are scheduled to take action setting the -- the salaries today, it's action item no. 26. And once you take action, that sets the -- the calendar going for the grievance process. Then it also allows p.b.o. To go in and -- and put in the changes to the preliminary budget that you will look at during markup to put in the appropriate funding in the different department's budgets.
